The Nomad begins as a single sheet of densely compacted black wool felt — each fiber pressed through heat and moisture until the material becomes dense, water-resistant, and quietly resilient. The deep black is saturated through the full thickness of the felt, not merely dyed onto the surface.

Around the base of the crown, ancestral geometric patterns are pressed into the felt by hand — repeating triangles and diamonds that echo the textile traditions of the American Southwest and the high desert. Each pattern is pressed, not printed, so it will not fade or wear away.

Repeating triangles and diamond motifs are pressed into the wool felt by hand, not printed. The patterns recess slightly into the surface, creating a subtle texture that catches the light — an homage to the geometric traditions of Southwestern weaving and pottery.

Braided Full-Grain Leather Band

A double-strand braided band of vegetable-tanned full-grain leather wraps the base of the crown. Each strand is cut, soaked, and plaited by hand — a technique that creates a band both flexible and durable, that softens and deepens in tone with every wear.

Mixed-Metal Hardware

A single antique brass slider engraved with a diamond motif anchors the band, flanked by sterling silver conchos stamped with an eight-point star. The deliberate pairing of warm brass and cool silver creates a contrast that matures gracefully — each metal developing its own patina over time.

Vegetable-tanned full-grain leather, cut and hand-braided into a double-strand band. The top layer of the hide — the strongest, most durable portion — chosen for its ability to develop a rich patina.

Antique Brass & Sterling Silver

Solid brass slider and sterling silver conchos, each hand-finished to an antique patina. The deliberate pairing of warm and cool tones creates a contrast that matures gracefully — never plated, never artificial.
